Delete Your Account
You can delete your FitApp account, and all the data we store about you, at any time. This page explains how to do it in the app or by email, what gets deleted, and what isn't.
Want a copy first? In the app, go to Settings > Your data > Download my data before you delete your account.
Delete your account in the app
- Open FitApp and sign in.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Under Account, tap Delete account.
- Read the message and tap Delete account again to confirm.
Your account is deleted straight away and you're signed out. This can't be undone.
If the app can't finish deleting (for example, because you're offline), nothing is deleted and the app asks you to try again.
What gets deleted
- Your sign-in details: your email address, your password (which we only ever held as a one-way hash) and the link to your Sign in with Apple account.
- Your profile: your name, date of birth and unit preference.
- Everything you shared with the coach: your quiz answers (including any health conditions, medications and ethnicity), your chat with the coach, your plans and your health data consent.
- Your workout, weight, protein and water logs.
- The reports you sent about the coach, and your support messages.
- Our copy of your subscription status, and the record of when you downloaded your data.
- Your customer record at RevenueCat, our subscription provider, which holds your purchase history under your account.
On your device, FitApp also signs you out and stops reading Apple Health or Health Connect. We never write anything to Apple Health or Health Connect, so nothing there is affected.
Delete your account without the app
If you can't use the app, email liamckoster@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my account".
- If you signed up with email: send the message from the email address on your account.
- If you used Sign in with Apple: tell us the email address shown for FitApp in your Apple Account settings, under Sign in with Apple. If you chose to hide your email, it's a private relay address ending in @privaterelay.appleid.com.
We'll send a message to the account's email address (Apple forwards it to you if it's a relay address) to confirm the request really comes from you. Once you confirm, we'll delete your account and all the data listed above within 30 days, and let you know when it's done.
What isn't deleted
- Store purchase records. Apple or Google keep their own records of your purchases and payments, under their own privacy policies. We can't delete those.
- Backups. Deleted data can remain in our hosting provider's backups until those backups expire.
- Error reports. Sentry, our error-tracking provider, keeps crash and error reports for a limited time. They don't contain your name, email address or account identifier. If you sent a "Something isn't working" message, deleting your account deletes the message, which removes the only link between a report and you.
- AI requests. Anthropic, our AI provider, keeps the requests we sent it to write the coach's answers for a limited time under its own terms, then deletes them.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps technical logs, such as IP addresses, for a limited time for security.
- Your request. If you asked us by email, we keep that email conversation as a record that we handled your request.
Deleting your account doesn't cancel your subscription
Your subscription is with Apple or Google, so deleting your FitApp account, or removing the app, doesn't stop the store charging you. If you're still subscribed, the app reminds you of this when you delete your account. Cancel first:
- iPhone or iPad: open the Settings app, tap your name, then Subscriptions, choose FitApp and cancel. Or, in FitApp, go to Settings > Subscription > Manage subscription.
- Android: open the Google Play app, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions, choose FitApp and cancel. Or, in FitApp, go to Settings > Subscription > Manage subscription.
Stop using Sign in with Apple with FitApp
When you delete your account in the app on an iPhone or iPad, Apple asks you to confirm, and FitApp then stops using your Apple sign-in. If you delete your account by email, or if that step doesn't finish (the app tells you), you can do it yourself: open your Apple Account settings, go to Sign in with Apple, choose FitApp and stop using it.
Delete only your health data
If you want to keep your account but remove your health information:
- In FitApp, go to the Settings tab.
- Under Your data, tap Delete my health data.
- Tap Delete health data to confirm.
This deletes your quiz answers, your chat with the coach, your plans (and any reports about them), and all your workout, weight, protein and water logs. It also withdraws your consent to us processing your health data and stops FitApp reading Apple Health or Health Connect.
Your account, email address, name, date of birth, subscription and support messages stay. To use the coach again, you'll be asked for your consent again and can retake the quiz.
